Les Hirondelles is a converted farmstead on the
edge of the tiny hamlet of Le Cros. The hamlet nestles in a quiet sheltered
valley of oak, chestnut and pine forest in the Ambazac hills. The farmhouse
and cottages date back to 1829 when this was a working farm.
The two holiday cottages are attached to the main farmhouse around a courtyard
and opposite the main garden and swimming pool area.
Le Colombier holiday cottage has the courtyard area to the front, whilst the
smaller cottage - La Chouette - has a small private garden to the rear.
The two cottages share the main garden area and
30 ft. kidney - shaped swimming pool. The pool is protected by a barrier and
is just over 1 metre deep throughout its length, providing security for younger
children. There is an ample supply of sun beds and garden furniture.
In addition to the cottage barbecues, there is a large barbecue area in the
main garden where the chestnut gazebo provides welcome shade from the sun.
It is also the ideal place for those long evening dinners which generally
come to an end when the wine runs out, someone loses the corkscrew, or the
children have made themselves ill through eating too many barbecued marshmallows!
