Les Hirondelles holiday cottages are on the edge of the peaceful, pretty hamlet of Le Cros, where nothing much moves apart from the occasional tractor. Nestling in a sheltered valley of chestnut and pine forests in the Ambazac hills of the Limousin region of South West France, this is the perfect location for a relaxing family holiday.
Originally built in 1800, our two self catering cottages with private swimming pool have been tastefully renovated to provide comfortable holiday accommodation without losing the charm of their original features. They adjoin the main farmhouse around a gravel courtyard area. The smaller cottage, La Chouette, also has a small private garden to the rear and we are always on hand to help you get the most from your holiday in this beautiful region.
The swimming pool is situated in the main enclosed garden area with, boules court, table tennis, badminton and childrens swings. The pool area has a security fence and a pool alarm to provide security for young children. We maintain and clean the pool each morning leaving you to just relax and enjoy the facilities.
There is also a barbecue area (in addition to your private barbecues) if you wish to eat by the pool. The pool and garden area is well supplied with garden furniture and sun loungers so there is no need to reserve sunbeds or that favourite spot around the pool!
The gazebo gives welcome shade from the sun and is also the ideal spot for those long evening dinners under the stars which usually come to an end when the wine runs out or someone loses the corkscrew!
The hamlet has a population of 25 very friendly people, and the surrounding countryside is a perfect place for an evening stroll before dinner, where you can soak up the stunning scenery and the relaxed atmosphere of this tranquil area which time seems to have passed by. At night you can hear a pin drop!
Despite its rural location, Les Hirondelles is perfectly placed in the centre of the Limousin region, so all the major attractions of the area are within easy reach.
